Anti-Counterfeiting Technology
d2t Taggant.
A covert forensic tagging system for plastics. d2t embeds invisible, indestructible taggant particles during polymer processing — authenticated instantly anywhere in the supply chain using the d2t I-R handheld device.

Technology
What is d2t?
d2t is a forensic anti-counterfeiting system developed by Symphony Environmental Technologies. It uses proprietary taggant particles — added at an immeasurably small, covert quantity during standard polymer processing — to provide irrefutable authentication of any plastic product.
Unlike surface-applied labels or holograms that can be copied or removed, d2t is embedded throughout the material itself. The taggant is inert, stable across all environmental conditions, and has an immeasurable lifetime — it remains detectable for as long as the product exists.
Verification is performed using the d2t I-R handheld device. Results are objective, instant, and require no specialist training — making authentication practical at every point in the supply chain, from factory gate to end consumer.
Process
How d2t works
d2t taggant masterbatch is added to the polymer during standard melt-processing. The taggant disperses uniformly throughout the product.
Tagged products travel through your supply chain — each item carrying its invisible authentication signature, stable across all handling and storage conditions.
At any checkpoint — warehouse, customs, retail, or field — the d2t I-R handheld device scans the product and delivers an instant pass/fail result.
Scan results are stored on the handheld device or uploaded to blockchain, creating a traceable verification record for every product at every stage.
Benefits
Why choose d2t?
d2t combines covert security, operational simplicity, and forensic-grade reliability — without adding cost or complexity to your manufacturing process.
d2t taggant particles are added at an immeasurably small quantity — invisible to the naked eye, undetectable by touch, and with no impact on the product's appearance, colour, or properties.
The d2t I-R handheld QC device delivers pass/fail results in seconds — objective, repeatable, and operable by anyone at any point in the supply chain.
Authentication can be performed at any stage — factory gate, warehouse, customs, retail, or field inspection. Results can be stored on a local device or on blockchain for full traceability.
d2t is introduced during standard polymer processing — extrusion, injection moulding, or compounding. No new equipment, no process changes, and no disruption to production.
Taggant particles are not degraded by handling, humidity, UV light, temperature variation, or mechanical stress — remaining detectable for the lifetime of the product.
d2t adds negligible cost to the product. The taggant concentration is so small that it has no measurable impact on material cost, while delivering enterprise-grade brand protection.
Verification data from every scan can be recorded on blockchain, creating an immutable, auditable chain of custody — ideal for regulatory compliance and premium brand assurance.
d2t works with all major polymer types and across all plastic product categories — from pharmaceutical packaging and medical devices to consumer goods and industrial components.
Applications
Where d2t is used
Any plastic product can be tagged. d2t is particularly valuable where counterfeiting, diversion, or grey-market trading poses a risk to brand, consumer safety, or regulatory compliance.
Authenticate packaging and containers for medicines and healthcare products to prevent dangerous counterfeiting.
Protect branded plastic products — household items, personal care, electronics accessories — from grey market and fake imports.
Tag irrigation pipes, films, and agricultural plastics to verify authenticity and approved-grade materials in the field.
Certify the provenance of safety-critical plastic parts and industrial components in manufacturing and construction supply chains.
Authenticate flexible and rigid packaging for food, beverages, and FMCG — ensuring branded pack integrity from factory to shelf.
Enable customs authorities and inspectors to perform instant on-the-spot verification of declared materials and brand authenticity.
